The words "own book" may apply to either a book you have written, or to a book that you have purchased for your personal collection.

In both cases, if you wish to copy more than 10% of the book you may do so only if you yourself hold the copyright.

Strange as it may seem to some, being the author of a work does not automatically make you the copyright holder. In some cases, the published will retain the copyright.
