A search for articles in Ovid can sometimes reveal some confusing options with the results. See below for an explanation of these options.

  • Ovid Full Text
    • select to start reading the article within the Ovid database (also Full Text option to read outside of Ovid).

  • Table of Contents
    • list of contents of the journal issue containing this article. Other issues of the same journal may also be also included.

  • Abstract Reference
    • almost always includes the abstract of the article, and the keywords supplied by the author.

  • Complete Reference
    • similar details to the Abstract Reference but can include more information like a complete list of references.

  • Request Permissions
    • related to copyright and for use by Faculty, for example, if they need to send a copy of this article to their students. SIT has other arrangements for this option.

  • Article as PDF
    • select to start reading the article in PDF format.

  • Buy Now
    • linked to the Pay Per View option, this is not utilized at SIT.

  • Check SIT Library
    • choose this option to search the SIT collection with one click. Please note the Library may not have a copy but you can request that we find a copy for you.

  • PDF (Pay Per View)
    • not enabled at SIT.
